Everything in moderation!
Have you seen the adverts saying you have to try and eat 5 pieces of fruit or veg a day to stay healthy? Sounds tough heh? But if you get into the habit of having fruit for a snack instead of a bag of crisps it’s so much better for you!
You might choose to be vegetarian either because of your religious or personal beliefs. Being veggie means you don’t eat meat, some vegetarians don’t eat fish and seafood either. But you don’t have to be vegetarian to eat lots of vegetables.
Have a look in the supermarket and try a fruit or vegetable you haven’t had before, especially ones from different countries, go on, be adventurous!
Stop eating so much junk food and fast food – yes we know they’re yummy but think! They have too much salt and fat and bad things in which are no good for your heart and blood. And if your blood gets sluggish so do you – keeping healthy really does affect the way you feel.
Eat well = Be well
See our section in Health Action Plans for more ideas of how to go about it.
