Recipe for Fried Dumplings

Try these with Ackee and Salt fish

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 450g (1lb) plain flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 25g (1oz) margarine

  • Water to hold ingredients together

  • Oil for frying

How to make them

  1. Put the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.

  2. Rub in the margarine and add one tablespoon of water at a time until the mixture holds together. Do not add too much water. The mixture should not be too sticky.

  3. Heat the oil.

  4. Roll the mixture into balls and deep fry until ‘fluffy’.

  5. Drain and serve.

These delicious dumplings can be eaten on their own or with fish or meat!
