Not agreeing to treatment

As a child your parents or carer have the right to make decisions for you

Social Workers Listens

When you are 16 this can change.

You may be allowed to say no to medical help or treatment without your parents or carer being involved if you can show that you understand what this means.

Do not take this step lightly as we all need help in making decisions.

If you feel you do not want your parent or carer to be involved you can choose someone else to help you make your choice. Someone like your community nurse, social worker / care manager or advocate would give you the right support for such a difficult situation.
