Hindu New Year

The Hindu New Year is usually in March but changes every year as Hindus follow a Lunar Calendar.

The New Year is celebrated by lighting lamps and decorating their houses with colourful flowers.

People get up early and take a bath, they may bring home statues of the Goddess Laxmi and they give each other presents.
