What to do if things go wrong

Complain

Sometimes things in transition do not go smoothly.

If you have not yet met your personal adviser in year 9 then COMPLAIN. Ask your teacher to get in touch with Connexions for you.

If a personal adviser does not turn up for your transitions review, COMPLAIN. You can ask someone to support you in writing a letter of complaint to the Connexions service.

If you find that your personal adviser does not understand you, maybe they do not listen to you or you find it hard to talk to them. Maybe they don't understand what it’s like being a young person from a BME community. It's important to tell someone- it could be your parents or carer, your teacher at school, someone who can help you COMPLAIN and ask for another personal adviser to work with you.

If, after leaving school, you find that you do not get any help from Connexions COMPLAIN. They are there to help you up to the age of 25.

It’s not easy to complain but if you are not happy with the support you do or do not get from Connexions, it is important to let them know so that there can get better.
