How to organise an appointment

Your GP will make a ‘REFERRAL’ to your local hospital for you if you need to see someone who knows more about your illness or who will help find out what’s wrong

Doctor

If you are under 16

You will see a special doctor for children called a PAEDIATRICIAN.

If you are aged 16+

When you are 16 or over you will be seen as an adult and be looked after by the same doctors and nurses as other adults.

Becoming an adult means that you have to become more responsible for your own health. Although your parents or carer will support you in looking after your health it is important that if you can you should too.
