What are Aids and Adaptation?

We all need some kind of support to help us in our lives and there are many different things on offer to help you with yours.

Aids can help make life easier for you and your parent or carer. They are normally things that you can use, to make you more independent in your home. For example, things that can help you prepare your food, hoists that can help in the bathroom, bath seats or raised toilets.

Adaptations are things that are done to your home to make things easier. Things like:

• Attaching handrails

• Door entry

• Widening doors and installing ramps to help you get in and out of your house.

• Providing a downstairs bathroom

• Installing a walk-in shower
