Yom Kippur - Jewish Holiday

Yom Kippur is an important Jewish Holiday where Jews must fast for 25 hours starting from the evening before Yom Kippur at sunset and ending the evening of Yom Kippur after nightfall.

Yom Kippur is the most sacred and solemn day of the Jewish year.

On Yom Kippur, God makes the final decision on what the next year will be like for each person.

The Book of Life, opened at Rosh Hashanah, is closed and sealed, and those who have properly repented for their sins will be granted a happy New Year.

During this festival the stories of Jonah and the Whale and The Sin of the Golden Calf are told from the Torah – the first part of the Jewish bible.

If you have any young friends they might enjoy doing a Yom Kippur puzzle!
