Mahashivaratri

Mahashivratri is on the 14th day of ‘Margasirsa’ (February-March). Mahashivaratri means “the night of Shiva”.

Most of the time the ceremonies take place at night.

At this festival people remember how important Lord Shiva is.

Hindus believe that on this day Lord Shiva married Parvati.
