Christians, (follower of Christ) believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God who was sent to earth as a man, to teach and show people how they should live. Because He behaved differently – He loved people considered ‘untouchable’ like lepers, and healed people on the Sabbath (Holy) day, he had many enemies and finally he was put to death on the cross, (by crucifixion). By dying this way, He paid for all men’s sins, (past and future) and over time, Christian churches started, where people could worship God without making animal sacrifices, as in the past.
Jesus rose from death three days after he died and some weeks later returned to heaven to be with His Father, (God), but left Christian’s the gift of the Holy Spirit, for guidance.
Christians read and study the Bible, which is made up of 66 separate books
There are many different types of Christians such as Protestant, Catholic and Methodist.
